We had the pleasure of working with Kyndal & John for our first wedding since the world changed in March, and what a celebration to kick things off with! These two wonderful humans got married at Kendall Point on a perfect June day and they had the best support system we’ve probably ever seen at a wedding, but more on that later. While unfortunately we haven’t received the professional photos from their big day just yet, we knew we had to share more about this wonderful couple and their love story and what Kyndal had to say in our blog questionnaire. Enjoy some of these behind-the-scenes and personal photos they were sweet enough to share with us!
“John and I met in the 4th grade and finally started dating our junior year of high school. While in high school, we loved playing tennis, working out, being in the marching band, and our long Dairy Queen dates. Now, nothing beats hanging out and playing games with our friends and family. John and I have been together for almost 6 years now, but it feels like a lifetime. We’ve been through more together than most will go through in a lifetime. During our senior year of high school, I was told I had acute myeloid leukemia and was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Though it felt like our whole world came crashing down, our faith remained. We had an amazing support system of family and friends, as well as each other. Throughout my six months at the hospital, John drove 3 hours every single weekend to come be with me. He made me laugh when it seemed impossible, he cut my food for me, and he never failed to call on his way to see what I wanted from Bucees. I always looked forward to Fridays and seeing him walk through the door; my face lit up every single time. Because John chose to stay by my side through this challenging time, our love grew even stronger. I knew long before that he would be the one that I spent the rest of my life with, but this confirmed it. He is my rock and one of the strongest and most kind-hearted men that I know. Deciding to spend the rest of our lives together is already the greatest decision we’ve ever made, and though it won’t be perfect, we can handle anything else that gets thrown at us. We will never stop being grateful for waking up each day and for having each other.”
Kyndal spent the morning getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite at Kendall Point, and the amazing CHAIRish the Day got everyone all done up while we worked on setting up their personal items and décor downstairs. We love these adorable behind-the-scenes photos of Kyndal and some of her bridal party – so cute!
Setting up for their big day was SO easy – Kyndal’s mom Susan was hands down one of the most organized people we’ve ever met, and as planners we LOVE some good organization! She had all of her décor separated in totes and labeled with photos on top. The personal items and touches she brought from home paired perfectly with the beautiful floral from Blume Haus. When we asked Kyndal what her favorite wedding day details were, she referenced her floral. ‘Holy cow. Blume Haus did an outstanding job bringing what I had imagined to life. I loved the baby’s breath on the chairs down the aisle, the candles and greenery down the staircase, all the bouquets, and every single centerpiece.’ Mandy and team did it again – we love them!
This one was really special for me, as Kyndal was the third bride in their family/friend group that I’ve gotten to work with! Not only did I see two of my past couples there, but I got to get to know the fourth couple in their crew whose St. Lucia wedding plans were derailed by COVID and we’ll be working with them for their wedding later this month! I am beyond excited to see everyone together again and grateful to have been a part of so many wonderful memories with this group and their families.
We asked Kyndal what advice she would give to future couples planning their own big day and she said something that we love to hear – don’t sweat the little things! “If you focus on the meaning of your wedding day and what’s important, you’re going to have a great time. Also, hire Scarlet Rose Events, and not sweating the little things will be much easier!!” She really said that, promise! ;) That is certainly something we tell all of our clients; we are there to make everything come together and make sure your day (and that of your family) is as stress-free as possible!
What’s up next for these two? With their honeymoon being postponed, John is back to work and Kyndal is enjoying summer break until her school starts back up. She’s going to nursing school to become a Pediatric Oncology nurse, as her life was forever impacted and blessed by those that she spent time with at TCH. We were thrilled to be a part of this very special day, and honored to have gotten to know them and their family a bit more during the process. See y’all in a few weeks! 🤗
