One of my favorite things to do when we are not super busy planning and executing beautiful weddings and events is putting my own spin on concept and design for a styled shoot! In this Spanish themed shoot at Lost Mission venue in Spring Branch, TX I had the best time with some amazing vendors making our visions come to life. And with tomorrow being Cinco de Mayo, it seemed like the perfect time to bring it back!
Abi from Cupcake Photography reached out to me saying she wanted to showcase Hispanic roots, but without the typical ‘fiesta’ colors you might see in downtown San Antonio in April, I was in! We named this shoot "(Cinder) Ella y el Mariachi." I quickly began working on a mood board (just like I do with all of my design clients) to present to the venue, florist, rental company, and all other creatives that worked that day. The end result was pure magic! Take a peek at some of the stunning setups below, and maybe it will give you inspiration for your special day!
The Girl General came on board with a custom invitation suite and helped bring together the vision for a blue & white Spanish theme. The incredibly talented designers from DeVinnie’s Paradise totally transformed the chapel of Lost Mission and it was heaven!
Lazy Creek Designs created a super cool map as an accompaniment to the invitation suite, which is a wonderful idea if you have out-of-town guests coming for your big day! Little tidbit, the precious couple in this shoot was actually a bride & groom of mine from a previous year! Abi and I thought they would be perfect for the shoot, and lucky for us, they said yes!
When we were planning this shoot and discussing the style and vibe, I immediately knew that I wanted to bring in Ashley from A.Cherie. She creates custom wedding gowns (veils, too!) and this one was perfect for this Spanish-themed day.
We all brainstormed some really cool ideas to include Spanish heritage into this shoot, things your guests would love! Tequila shot favors? Sign me up! A pan dulce and sangria bar…yes please?! 2Tarts also came together with a gorgeous blue & white tiled cake which matched the concept perfectly!
While the majority of us vendors were up at the chapel, DeVinnie’s Paradise was working down at the reception site of Lost Mission creating the most stunning sweetheart tables I have probably ever seen. I mean, YOU GUYS - take a look at this! From the blue and white mis-matched china provided by Cru Rentals, to the custom place card tiles, to the papel picado drapped across the venue’s Edison-bulb chandelier…this was literally a dream come true.
After working indoors for a bit, the group transitioned into an outdoor reception concept, complete with a single rose at each place setting - another romantic detail from the amazing team at DeVinnies. The venue’s showstopping firewall coupled with VEGA'S DJ’s ambient up-lighting created the perfect scene for this bride and groom – and yes, they really did stop for dance together. SWOON.
