Oh hey! I’m Katy and I’m the Founder + Creative Director of Scarlet Rose Wedding & Event Co.

I spent the last three years running a very successful wedding and event planning company before deciding it was time to follow my own passion and goals, which led me here!


With over 100 weddings under my belt, countless “oh my God did that just happen?” moments, and plenty of tears shed (hey, we get pretty close around here and it’s a big day, you know?!), I truly feel honored when a client chooses me as their planner. I’m all about communication, and I love a good collaborative brainstorming session, especially when it’s over appetizers and cocktails!

Out to dinner with my husband and daughter (aka bean / tiny human), going for walks with them and our dog, Abby, beating my husband at Dominoes, and soaking up as much sun as I can!

I’ve been a lover of pretty things and a planner by nature since I can remember. There’s just something about bringing people together and creating lifelong memories that is so special to me.

I'm so glad I made the transition from a standard 40 hour work week to fulfill my passion of curating timeless moments and taking my love of events to the next level. Recently planning a wedding of my own, I have seen both sides of the industry and I couldn’t feel better about my decision. With my attention to details and sense of style, I hope to be your go-to girl. Let’s make some magic!

Hey y'all! I'm Kilee, the Senior Planner here at 

Scarlet Rose Events. 

Let's be honest, I'm in love with love! My passion for weddings first started when I worked as a stylist for a bridal boutique. I loved working one-on-one with brides and helping choose their dream dress. Once my brides would leave the boutique it left me not only wanting to know more of their story, but to be a part of their story! Shortly after my experience as a stylist, I became a venue coordinator which allowed me to be more involved with the entire wedding experience. Talk about a dream job!

My favorite part about being a wedding coordinator is knowing that I get to create the most positive experience on the most memorable day in a couples' life. Truth be told, I cry every time I see my brides walk down the aisle!

I truly hope I get to be a part of your big day!

Lately, my life has revolved around house renovations! My husband and I are always working on projects. (We​ may have watched too many episodes of Fixer Upper)

Fur babies:

I'm a proud dog mom to two Golden Retrievers: Dolly & Duke! Yes, she was named after the great Dolly Parton. Yes, I will show pictures of them any chance I get. We enjoy long walks from the couch to the fridge

Do you offer day of coordination?

We know that the term ‘day of coordinator’ is one that many people use. It’s common, it’s popular in the wedding industry.
Really though, that concept is like a unicorn - as much as we want it to, it just doesn’t exist. We use the term Wedding Management to describe our baseline services. Do you really want someone showing up on your biggest, most important day ever without having done any work prior to your wedding? We’ll answer - no way! Our Management collection is more of a ‘month-of’ coordination option, beginning 4-6 weeks before your special day. We promise you’ll have much more peace of mind that way!

How many people will be there on the day of the wedding?

One assistant is included with every wedding, regardless of what collection you’ve purchased. Our lead coordinator often begins the day setting up personal decor, and the assistant joins later as we get closer to ceremony time! That cost is included in our base package price.

Do you have preferred vendors/venues?

Yes! Every client that chooses to work with us will receive a comprehensive list of some of our favorites in the industry! From all styles, cuisines, personalities and price points! We have worked hard to curate a list that we know you’ll be happy choosing from. Some even provide special rates/amenities for Scarlet Rose couples! While you are not required to use vendors solely from this list, we highly encourage you to try, as we know they will have your best interest at heart in creating the most perfect day.

Difference between you and venue coordinator?

Just as the name states a venue coordinator is someone whose sole responsibility is looking after the venue. We are grateful to work alongside these individuals, as they make sure your toiletries are stocked, the temperature is comfortable in the room, and the lighting is set accordingly. A wedding planner (that’s us!) works exclusively on behalf of the couple, our client, to ensure the day runs smoothly and stress-free, coordinating and communicating with your vendors and executing for your benefit.

Do you work with clients that don’t live in the area?

We do! We think couples that are not local are in even more need for an experienced planner with great connections! Some of our past clients have lived in Florida, Wisconsin, New York, California, as well as Texas cities like Dallas, Houston, Odessa and more! We are your eyes and ears in the area and are happy to FaceTime and communicate in other ways if you are unable to attend meetings.

More than anything, we love celebrating L O V E. We know it comes in all shapes and sizes and colors and genders and that’s okay. We want to celebrate your love for your forever person and help make your day so unique and special to the two of you. Contact us to get started!
